Q: Is the IV™flow compatible with collapsible, rigid (bottles) and semi-rigid containers?
A: Yes. The IV™flow can be used with any type of container, as long as the infusion set has a vented spike when used with semi-rigid and rigid containers.

Q: Is the IV™flow height sensitive?
A: As with any gravity infusion device, the IV™flow operates at its optimum at a prescribed height. The higher the IV™flow is placed above the venipuncture site, the less susceptible it will be to any movement by the patient during infusion. For the optimal height specifications, please refer to the “user instructions” included in the packaging of the product.

Q: Can the IV™flow be used for blood transfusion?
A: Yes, the IV™flow is being tested to determine whether it may be used with a blood transfusion set. The results will be published no later than October 2004.

Q: Can the IV™flow be used with an electronic infusion pump?
A: Yes, the IV™flow is being tested to determine whether it may be used with electronic infusion pumps. The results will be published no later than October 2004.

Q: At what angle can the IV™flow be used, for instance when used in an airplane?
A: The maximum test angle in which the IV™flow has been tested and has functioned normally is at an angle of 45º from vertical.

Q: Can light sensitive medications be used with the IV™flow?
A: Yes, the IV™flow is being tested to determine whether it may be used with light sensitive drugs. The results will be published no later than October 2004.

Q: Does the IV™flow regulate the flow rate?
A: No. The IV™flow is not a flow regulating device, but is used in conjunction with and enhances all flow regulators. The IV™trend is also not a flow regulator but is a flow rate calibrating device.
